CEO ENDORSEMENT LETTER #1
Dear Fellow Employee:
There's something we can do to touch the lives of everyone in our community and help people who are less fortunate than we are.
We can run a great United Way campaign again this year.
Our campaign committee, chaired by (CAMPAIGN COORDINATOR'S NAME), has planned our campaign kickoff for (DATE). I share their
confidence that you will carry on our tradition of generosity to United Way by surpassing our $ ___________ goal.
Our past gifts have helped support more than 100 local health and human service programs in Camden County. We're the ones who made
it possible for United Way to respond to thousands of requests for help from area residents - our friends, neighbors and
family members.
Giving to United Way is the best thing we can do as individuals to make things better for everyone. Whether you give and how much
you give is a personal decision, but I hope you'll consider a generous gift in 2005. Even as little as $ _____ more per week
through payroll deduction can make a difference.
If you have questions about our employee campaign or United Way, contact (CAMPAIGN COORDINATOR). We want you to have the information
you need to make such an important and personal decision.
Sincerely,
CEO

CAMPAIGN ENDORSEMENT LETTER FROM UNION LEADER TO UNION MEMBERS
Dear Brothers and Sisters:
Think for a moment what you would do if disaster struck -- an earthquake or hurricane, for example -- and you lost everything you
had worked so hard to acquire. Where would you turn for help?
Imagine if you can -- or maybe you don't have to imagine -- that you have a child who has a learning disability, a teenager with a
drug or alcohol problem, a friend who lost a job, or a neighbor who was evicted from an apartment. Who can provide the necessary
support?
In all of these cases, United Way can help. Through its community-wide campaign United Way offers local human service organizations
the support and assistance they need to help at-risk youth become academically successful, remain drug-free, law-abiding and avoiding
early pregnancy as well as helping the working poor become economically self-sufficient.
With your support, the United Way-funded programs in our community can make a difference in people's lives. Your individual
contribution works along with the gifts of your co-workers, friends, and neighbors to provide a brighter future for our community’s
youth and working poor.
I urge you to think about what it would be like to need help, and to think about how relieved you'd be to know that United Way is
there to give that help. Please join me in making a gift to United Way so help will continue to be there for people who need it.
Thank you.
CAMPAIGN ENDORSEMENT LETTER TO RETIREES (from fellow retiree)
(YOUR COMPANY's NAME) United Way campaign is now in progress. This is our opportunity as former employees to once again be a part
of the team that works together for a better community.
Today, people all around us -- friends, neighbors, and members of our own families -- receive support and services from agencies
funded by United Way. Your gift makes sure these services remain available.
Look back over your own life and think:
• Did you ever have trouble finding a place to live?
• Have you or one of your family members ever lost a job unexpectedly?
• Do your grandchildren need help in school?
If you answer “yes” to any of these questions, chances are United Way has touched your life. If you’ve ever needed housing
assistance; help finding a job; if you’ve ever watched your grandchild struggle to learn -- United Way and the programs it funds
have been there to help.
United Way’s ongoing services to all people in the community, as well as its attention to those most in need, make it easy to see
why our continued financial support is so important. And because experienced volunteers evaluate our community’s problems and ways
to solve them, it’s the most efficient system of caring we have.
Please join me in making a pledge to United Way. Your ongoing participation as a member of the (NAME OF COMPANY) team will provide
a better life for everyone in our community. Thank you.
