Strategic Initiative Fund

The Strategic Initiative Fund (SIF) was established as a mechanism to address the following;

• Meet one-time emergency needs in the Camden County Community.

• Support programs related to our strategic initiatives outside the normal schedule of
  volunteer investment decisions.

During the past year, the following agencies were awarded SIF grants:

American Red Cross
This grant was awarded to support Emergency Services, specifically providing emergency food, clothing and shelter to families who have lost their homes due to fire and toward the salary of a night/weekend duty worker who will handle the Armed Services emergency communications.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Camden and Gloucester County
This grant was awarded to provide matching funds towards the $30,000 grant from Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. This grant is to be used to improve the school based mentoring programs at Camden City Schools, by hiring a full time School Based Partnership Coordinator.

Boys and Girls Club of Camden County
This grant is to support the JobReady! Program providing the salaries of 40 Teen Club Members and to provide program supplies and materials during the 2005 program year.

The Winning Ways Foundation
This grant was awarded to support the Martin Luther King Day of Service taking Camden City youth and providing them with community service opportunities.
