Krista J. Briglia
Vice President of Community Impact
Krista was born and raised in South Philadelphia which is where she currently resides with her family. She spent several years outside the city to attend Loyola College in Maryland where she received her BA in Psychology. The year following Loyola, Krista moved out to the Bay Area in California to work as an AmeriCorps Volunteer. Krista spent the majority of her professional volunteer time as a teacher’s aide at a local elementary school and had the chance to tutor English as a Second Language. It was during this time that Krista recognized the value of a volunteer and hoped to work in a greater capacity with volunteers one day. Krista spent a few years leading individual and group therapy programs for adolescents within a Philadelphia public middle school setting. She enjoyed her time directly serving the at-risk youth population but felt compelled to find a way to serve the greater issues that face these young people. These experiences intermingled with a move to North Jersey led Krista to find a new occupation in the social service industry—United Way. Krista spent her first two years in the system at United Way of Greater Union County. Currently – 8 years later, Krista oversees the Community Impact team, initiatives, programs and volunteers. It is through this work that Krista feels like she can be a part of the greater good of the community.
